New Firefox 3 - A Couple Tips

Firefox 3 has come out and it is a thing of beauty. All of the major web developer plugins have been compatible, such as Web Developer, and Firebug. The Live Page Rank extension was the only one I use alot, that was not compatible. I have an idea it won’t be long before they update it.

Some New Features

The Navbar made a big leap to the new “AwesomeBar”. Now suggestions include a title, and allow you to delete bad URL’s that where saved by pressing Shift+Del when highlighting them. The AwesomeBar is a bit intrusive with page titles now showing as well, so you may consider reducing the number of suggestions, or even reverting back to the OldBar that is used in FF2. You can learn how to do this and more over at lifehacker.

There’s also another navbar trick to show you. With some config mods, we can have the navbar only suggest an address that has been manually typed in, and not list every site that has been visited. This is nice, as sometimes you tend to cruise on through several sites, and now your suggestions are cluttered. Lifespy shows you how to make this mod.

Overall, Firefox just gets better and better.
